This PATH Intl. CEU Track is designed to deepen Equine Specialists’ understanding of their role within Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). The workshop provides 4 PATH CEU credit hours (2 Core Requirement + 2 General Education) and includes a 1-hour individual consultation with Bri Bennett (in person in Arizona or virtually). Formed and offered by Bri Bennett, an approved mentor with PATH Intl. and an active subcommittee volunteer supporting certification design. With over 8 years of hands-on Equine Specialist experience and dual certification through PATH Intl. and EAGALA, Bri brings ethical clarity, applied decision-making, and real-world ES expertise to this training. Participants receive over 12 hours of applied learning, including instruction, discussion, reflection, and skill integration. These hours may be used toward the required Equine Specialist education hours for individuals preparing for or completing the ESMHL workshop, whether taken before or after attending the PATH ESMHL course, in accordance with PATH requirements. Topics include: Defining the Equine Specialist role across EAL and EAP Safety, ethics, facilitation, and equine welfare responsibilities Scopes of practice and navigating “the grey” without therapeutic drift (including participant redirection scripts) Essential documents, forms, and guides (downloadable sample forms included) Partnering with horses to support learning and participant growth Congruence and incongruence in sessions and horse responses Triangle vs. Diamond Model awareness Self check-in and emotional regulation for Equine Specialists Quizzes to check for understanding Participants also receive a 25% discount code towards 2 Partnering For Purpose EAL Activity Workbooks!
